SUPREME COURT CANDIDATES The DBA Public Forum Committee will host candidates for Texas Supreme Court on Tuesday, September 2 at noon at the Belo Mansion. Lawyers and citizens can hear directly from the candidates as they answer questions from moderator Keven Ann Willey, editorial page editor for the Dallas Morning News. The DBA Family Law Section and DVAP will present their annual Family Law Nuts & Bolts CLE on Wednesday, September 3 and Thursday, September 4 from 5 to 8 p.m. Registration begins at 4:15 p.m. This CLE trains lawyers on how to represent indigent clients in various family law matters. More than a dozen speakers (including judges and board-certified specialists) will discuss client interviews, requirements of pleadings and supporting documents, acquiring jurisdiction, prove-ups, prior orders, paternity, conservatorship and access, and child support.
